I’m piecing together the time to work through a checklist of potential bad that needs resolving, and the first item on the list was the mushy pedal and anemic stopping power preventing me from properly opening the throttle on the 455. Can’t (responsibly) put the pedal down if I can’t stop, yeah?

The going theory is corrosion/breakage on a fitting or line proximate to the driver front assembly. Lines and fittings aren’t expensive… that’s not the problem: I have to prep the driveway, roll the car out, get out tools, do some work, watch the clock, wind back the process before the time is up. Doing work in that way is challenging even when it’s “little stuff,” so I’m already past it being tiresome.

Maybe I’ll see about a brake line refresh and maybe new shoes for the drums at a local shop… then I can at least blast up the road once or twice (responsibly) before I continue on.

I keep saying “responsibly” because if I keep saying it, I will (hopefully) actually be it once I can get my foot on the gas.
